Volker Boehringer to assume new strategic role within Panalpina

Volker Boehringer, regional CEO for Europe and a member of the executive committee will assume the role global head of strategic customer development as of June 1, 2018. In this new position, he will report directly to Karl Weyeneth, chief commercial officer, and will primarily focus on developing selected and strategically important customers that will drive and support Panalpina’s overall growth ambitions.

“Volker has a wealth of experience in sales and has always focused on customer and business development throughout his career. I am very excited to count on his knowledge and support to grow our key accounts,” says Weyeneth.

Boehringer started his career at Panalpina in 1986 after the completion of his diploma at the Berufsakademie in Mannheim. Since then he has held numerous roles in key accounts, sales management and operations; and has accumulated over 16 years of experience in senior management positions.

From Frankfurt, Boehringer will relocate back to Stuttgart for personal reasons. The position of regional CEO for Europe will be replaced. Until then, Karlen will oversee this region.
