Anders Hoffgaard from Nuuk has been appointed country manager for EG Greenland

IT group EG has appointed Anders Hoffgaard as country manager for EG Greenland. This is the group's next step towards establishing a Greenlandic company in order to handle a growing number of tasks from companies in Greenland and from the Government and municipalities of Greenland.

Anders Hoffgaard, 35, lives in Nuuk and has broad experience from i.e. managerial positions in the Scandinavian IT consultancy Symfoni Software, as a senior consultant in KANUKOKA and, for the last three years, as deputy manager of the Greenlandic Agency for Digitization under the Government of Greenland. He has also worked as a project manager for the joint public ERP project with the purpose of implementing a new financial management system for the Government and municipalities of Greenland.

Leif Vestergaard, CEO of EG A/S, is pleased with the development, which is in line with the requirements communicated by the group in February:

"It was important for us to find a manager with knowledge of Greenland who shares our values of community and value creation. Anders has a large network and extensive experience of Greenland's public sector. With the appointment, we ensure continuity in the cooperation with the municipalities and the Government of Greenland, and we will have a strong manager who can develop EG Greenland further. Our task now is to establish a healthy and locally based company that provides quality projects and participates actively in the development of local IT skills, which will increase the country's tax revenue."

As Anders Hoffgaard was working as a project manager for the joint public financial management project, the Government of Greenland was informed of his application for the job at EG to avoid any conflicts of interest.

"Anders Hoffgaard's contract with the Government of Greenland expires naturally at the end of May, and we therefore knew that Anders Hoffgaard was likely to seek new pastures", says Peter Hansen, acting permanent secretary and chairman of the steering committee from the Ministry of Finance, and continues:

"Anders has been open with the steering committee and his management about his application to EG. EG is our current supplier, and the steering committee therefore decided to ensure that the project is run impartially and at arm's length by ensuring that Anders did not have anything to do with the future project contract and finances. The steering committee has appointed Ole Peter Kristensen from KANUKOKA as project manager".

The Government of Greenland has announced that the position of project manager for the ERP project has been advertised and invites all candidates to apply for the position.

Anders Hoffgaard will take up the position as country manager for EG Greenland at the beginning of June.
