Lily Pepper arrives in Manchester

Lily Pepper the elephant unpacked her trunk and enjoyed a tour of great Manchester landmarks yesterday – the first arrival from a parade of elephants set to light up intu Trafford Centre this summer.

The Elephant Parade national tour will appear at intu Trafford Centre on August 19 for a four-week stay.  Eight new elephants, including Lily Pepper by Karen Hollis, will join the tour herd at intu Trafford Centre. These new tour elephants comprise four designs by national artists, three half size elephants designed by Manchester schools and a fourth baby elephant created by the Chinese Centre in Manchester.

But Lily Pepper, created by local artist Karen Hollis, was the first of the herd to arrive, and was treated to a grand tour of the city.
