Empower to carry out the modernisation and renovation of Koria substation for Fingrid Oyj

In a project lasting almost three years, Empower PN Oy will act as the main contractor for the extensive modernisation and renovation of Fingrid’s Koria substation. The value of the contract for Empower is over EUR 11 million.

The Koria substation is located near Kouvola. It has an important role in the client’s uninterrupted operations on the main grid as well as in providing energy for the local process industries.

– By continuing to improve the main grid, we ensure that the main grid and the entire electrical system meet the quality requirements placed on them in the face of changing transfer requirements. In the future, the power system is expected to have even greater reliability and technical performance, says Fingrid’s Project Manager Petri Hämäläinen.

Construction will begin in November 2016 and the project will be complete in late 2019.
