Empower signs maintenance contract with Stora Enso Packaging

Press Release   •   Jun 08, 2013 06:35 GMT

Empower has signed a contract on the maintenance as well as purchasing and warehousing services of Stora Enso Packaging's production units in Lahti and Heinola, starting from 1 August 2013.

The contract relies on Empower's solid maintenance expertise and further intensifies the functional flexibility of maintenance resourcing.

The transfer of services also involves a transfer of operations between Empower and ABB. The reorganisation concerns an approximate total of 40 ABB employees in Lahti and Heinola. The employment contracts of the transferred employees will continue unbroken under the new employer.

The service contract will further strengthen Empower's position as an industrial service provider and a strategic partner of Stora Enso.

"The service contract with Stora Enso Packaging is a significant addition to Empower's industrial maintenance services, and will strengthen our position as one of the major Nordic operators in the field. The contract is a signal of solid trust and shows that we have served Stora Enso well in its other sites in Anjalankoski, Sunila and at various sawmills, where Empower has been delivering maintenance services for a long time already. I have every confidence that Empower's expertise, resources and flexibility will also produce added value for customers in Lahti and Heinola," says Jari Simola, head of Empower's industrial service contracts.
