Empower to renew customer data systems of four energy companies

Jyväskylän Energia Oy, Lahti Energia Oy, Vaasan Sähkö Oy and Oulun Sähkönmyynti (part of Oulun Energia) will renew their customer data systems in cooperation with Empower. The project will be implemented by Empower IM Oy. The total value of the project is approximately four million euros.

The Ellarex customer data systems of the four energy companies included in the joint procurement will be gradually renewed. The first system deliveries will take place in 2015.

Jyväskylän Energia Oy, Lahti Energia Oy, Oulun Sähkönmyynti Oy and Vaasan Sähkö Oy have a combined total of about 750,000 customers in Finland. In addition to electricity network, electricity sales and district heat customers, the system supplied by Empower can also be used for processing the data of natural gas and water customers.

The renewed system will enable the development of new kind, customer-oriented service packages and energy efficiency. Increase of hourly energy and network information in the energy sector as well as changing invoicing to be hour-based set new requirements for customer data systems. The harmonisation of Nordic market practices and the birth of Nordic joint retail markets in the next few years will be taken into account when renewing the system.
