Press release -

Comitting to a brighter tomorrow

To us at Fagerhult, sustainability is all about balance and farsightedness; whether that be in production, investment, technical innovation or social aspects. Our own environmental impact is especially important to us and never far from our minds, given that our factory in Fagerhult has both a water protection zone and a nature reserve on its doorstep.

We are a global company, with strong local roots. That is a part of our culture we embrace and hope to nurture. We understand the importance, impact and responsibility of us as an employer and as a manufacturing brand. Therefore, we need to take action.

– We have conducted in-depth life-cycle assessments on three quintessential products from the Fagerhult range, explains Nina Ström, Head of Quality & Environment at Fagerhults Belysning. This has allowed us to identify the areas where we can improve the most, and measure our progress over time.

Adapting an innovative mindset and be sustainable at heart is a good start. But we must also be responsible in action. And that is where the people matter.

– We are humbled by the challenge we are facing, and we know we have a big responsibility as a manufacturing company, says Anders Fransson, CEO of Fagerhults Belysning. With this work we have strengthened our corporate sustainability structure. Therefore, our sustainability goals for 2030 are ambitious, but not at all impossible.

We aim to achieve these long-term goals in our five prioritised action areas by 2030. All areas are linked to the UN Global Goals for Sustainable Development. We will work continuously to forge new paths and create action – for a better environment and a brighter tomorrow.

Goals set up by 2030

  • Lighting ergonomics
We will be leading developers of lighting solutions that support well-being and creativity.
  • Energy efficiency
All our lighting solutions will reduce energy consumption with integrated lighting controls.
  • Conscious production
Our production will be energy positive.
  • Pure materials
Our products will be designed with at least 80% renewable or recycled materials.
  • Empowering people
We will transform people’s lives through personal growth and diversity.
