Fagerhult's Sweep & Scoot honoured with Red Dot Design Award

Having made a show stealing debut at Light+Building in Frankfurt last year, Fagerhult’s Sweep and Scoot have now been honoured with a Red Dot Design Award. With a focus on visual comfort combined with environmental and economic sustainability, Sweep and Scoot are products of their time, both in terms of design and materials, but also with a focus on light distribution and quality.

The development of Sweep and Scoot was built on the new demands and characteristics of our working life in the activity-based office. The concept was designed by Lars Pettersson and Morgan Rudberg who runs PetterssonRudberg, a studio that works on mixed projects in design and architecture.

Their brief was to develop a solution for creative offices with activity-based working. The luminaires should be based on Fagerhult's DNA where form can never interfere with the light but instead interact for a design with attitude, quality and efficiency.

The result is two luminaires with a harmonious form yet with their own character. The design is based on careful proportions studies and meticulous details with elegant meetings between different surfaces and materials. Sweep and Scoot have a tactile surface with a rubber-like matt finish, and are available in white, black, light blue, light green and light coral. The combination of direct/indirect light and featuring the latest LED technology delivers outstanding light quality and efficiency - an ergonomic and environmentally sound choice.

Both are as equally suited to singular installation as they are in clusters, depending upon the needs to the room.

To be rewarded with a Red Dot is not just about the honour – for many international brands it is also an important indication that the product is internationally recognized.

- For us, the Red Dot confirms that we made a daring yet right decision. Exciting shapes in combination with advanced lighting technology results in products with a strong demand on the market, says Fagerhult's Håkan Sehler.

- A high design content is a part of our trademark and this demands a comprehensive approach; we cannot forgo functionality in favour of design or vice versa. Sweep and Scoot are also available with Tunable White and our control system e-Sense Tune, which enables personal light control via a phone or tablet.
