The luminaire family with many aspects

Verda is the first luminaire family in Fagerhult's new venture into a complete lighting series for public spaces and residential areas. From classic to contemporary and cosy to modern, Verda is a modular-based system that can be easily combined to create a variety of ambiences.

The Verda concept evolved from a park luminaire which was designed to complement the function and characteristics of the area. The basic model can be equipped with decor rings and a shade – separately or in combination – and these make it easy to vary the lighting while retaining an aesthetic expression within a larger area. The series also includes three easy-to-install bollards which illuminate the ground for an effective guiding light.

"With Verda we are setting a standard for visual comfort," says Fagerhult's Product Manager, Tomas Bolin.

"For a long time, this type of lighting consisted largely of direct light. The focus was always the pathway. Verda, instead, utilises a combination of indirect and vertical light. This results in pleasant spatial perception and a comfortable light at eye level, which makes it easy to identify people you encounter and see what lies farther ahead. The vertical light also contributes to illuminating the environment on the side of the pathway, brightening up hedges and shrubbery. The light is evenly distributed across the pathway for great visibility. The result is a beautiful and varied lit environment conducive to a sense of safety and security."

The Verda family has been designed for the smaller spaces in a city or town – parks, squares and other public areas. The luminaires are also perfectly suited for different types of residential areas, from apartment buildings and townhouses to terraces. A version is available for these areas which provides an asymmetrical light distribution, thereby preventing light glare through windows. The luminaires are very energy-efficient with measured results up to 102 lm/watt.
