Press release -

X-traffic increases the customer service with a real-time solution from Fältcom

The system includes about 210 communication platforms mounted in buses. The platforms will communicate the bus location in real time via a central AVL system, (Automatic Vehicle Location). The information will then be passed on to customers via existing channels.

X-traffic, which is responsible for the majority of public transport within the Gävleborgs county in Sweden, is constantly working to improve traffic information to clients and the general public. With the new system, they will be able to provide a better service about real bus times and current departure times.

- It is important for our customers to find out when the bus will actually depart and where it is located, also to receive information on immediate traffic disruptions and delays which was not available. By purchasing a vehicle system like this, the information can be provided to our customers through mobile phones, monitors, web pages and other existing systems, says Jenny Bergström at X-traffic.

The communication platform, FältCom MIIPS©, will in parallel be used to create Wi-Fi connectivity through which customers will be offered onboard Internet. Possibly, additional services will be added later.
