Future of work- the opportunities and challenges created by new digital technologies

Finland's Presidency of the European Union started with a thought-provoking discussion at the Finlandia Hall on 3.7.2019 around a challenging theme on the transformation of work and working life due to digitalization. The representation from the The Adecco Group was Jukka-Pekka Annala, CEO of Adecco Finland Oy. The statement that the development of digital technology will replace work, change work and create new work, inspired many intriguing speeches.

”In a high quality working life well-being of workers and high productivity go hand in hand. The question is not just about technology.” These were the opening words by the Minister of Employment, Timo Harakka.

Linda Liukas, one of the keynote speakers, achildren’s author and coder noted that: ”[With my coding books] I’m preparing kids for a world where so many problems are computer problems. In the future, I believe all companies are software companies.”
