Canon expands its Nordic Photographer Program – five new photographers to share their stories and photo tips

Ida Bjørvik, Iiris Heikka, Morten Nordstrøm, Gunnar Freyr and Alex Høgh Andersen are the five new members of Canon's "Nordic Photographer Program". The program, which started in 2016 as a collaboration between the Nordic countries, aims to introduce different photographers and influencers with their different themes and specializations. Including these five new contributions, the program now has a total of 20 members.

Jenni Lindström, Marketing Director at Canon Nordic: ”We are very pleased to add these five new inspiring photographers to our Nordic Photographer Program. Together, they will contribute new unique insights and stories to our already inspiring photographer network, giving the program an even greater mix in terms of photographic orientation and show the great diversity of photography art.”

Ida Bjørvik is a Norwegian fashion, beauty and portrait photographer. Her main focus is capturing emotions and feelings, mostly through shootings of powerful and sensual women.

Iiris Heikka is a Finnish photographer focused on portraits, documentary shots, landscapes, nature and fashion. Her inspiration is to show how she views the world and to give voice to people through interesting colours, compositions and details.

Morten Nordstrøm is an independent photographer based in Copenhagen. He is known worldwide for capturing moody and evocative street scenes and intense portraits, focusing on telling strong stories of people.

Gunnar Freyr is one of Iceland's most famous photographers with a series of pictures that have become synonymous with Iceland. He focuses on adventure, nature and wildlife photography, traveling to some of the most remote parts of Iceland and Greenland to get the best shots. He is also teaching at Reykjavik School of Photography.

Alex Høgh Andersen is famous worldwide through his work as main actor on the TV show “Vikings”. As a photographer he covers a wide range of areas, from landscape and documentary to street art and portraits. And naturally, as an actor, a lot of Alex’s latest work is set at the filming locations where old men with wrinkles and long beards are common motives.

Canon's Nordic Photographer Program is based on a collaboration between Canon and each individual photographer, that runs for one year or more. Photo enthusiasts can expect to meet the photographers at various Canon events, learn from their best photo tips, and follow their photos and stories on Canon's social media.
