FACOM takes the strain out of binding with world’s first cordless cable tie pliers

Weighing less than 900g including the battery, the durable, ergonomic and compact composite body features a long nose design. This provides operators with easy access to confined spaces that cannot be reached ordinarily by shorter manual equivalents or air pliers. Furthermore, thanks to the rotating head, the innovative FACOM cordless ties pliers can be adapted to suit left or right handed use for added comfort, and removes the strain on the operator’s wrist when undertaking continual work.

With the highly precise blade, up to 400 cable ties (from 2.4mm to 7.6mm in width) may be cut and fastened per hour, and 3,200 completed per charge with maximum tightening strength during an eight-hour working day. The FACOM cordless ties pliers offer a choice of up to eight different torque settings*, with the ability to lock the preferred position. This allows the consistent delivery of optimum tension in-line with the target application**. For operator safety, and to prevent Foreign Object Damage (FOD), any excess material from the tie remains in the nose after it has been trimmed, and may be discharged by the user upon releasing the trigger.

The FACOM cordless ties pliers come equipped with a range of useful accessories. An operator belt with a left and right holster supplies greater convenience and ease of portability during usage of the tool. The shock- proof FACOM flycase with a retracting telescopic handle and depressurizing valve protects the pliers from damage, dust and water ingress during storage and transportation.

“The FACOM cordless cable tie pliers were born from the need to solve the problem of production operators suffering repetitive strain injuries and musculo-skeletal disorders when repeatedly using manual or pneumatic tools during the application of cable ties. The latest ultra-lightweight, silent and durable product range has been created to relieve professionals of the large pressures placed on the body’s muscles and joints. This therefore makes the process of cutting and tightening plastic cable ties during long periods quick, accurate and effortless, allowing maximum comfort, safety and productivity on the line at all times,” said Paul Samms, FACOM Group Product Manager for the Stanley Black & Decker group.
