Engblad & Co – Winner of ELLE Decoration Swedish Design Awards 2018 with “Wallpaper of the year 2018” for Ilse Crawford collection Atmospheres

Motivation to Wallpaper of the Year 2018:

"A wallpaper collection with a minimalist design language that still does not go with the wall, but takes place and gives character to the room"

- The design collaboration with Ilse Crawford felt very natural to us from the very first moment and therefore it feels so great to get this fantastic award. We are incredibly happy and proud, says Madeleine Sidemo, Senior Designer at Engblad & Co.

The collection consists of five patterns – Line, Brush, Canvas, Knit, and Weft – all are hand drawn. It is in their imperfections that atmosphere is found. The patterns create the impression of movement, texture and subtle depth to the walls, and are designed to engage the senses and bring atmosphere to a room. Lines uses the simplest form of human expression, Brush is an expressive gesture with a light touch, Canvas has a loose structure with a tactile effect, Knit is a refined pattern with gentle movement and Weft is almost invisible. Rather than being overtly decorative, the wallpapers create a subtle painterly backdrop for the interior. The collection consists of 30 wallpapers and was launched in September 2017.
