International design awards for three brand new Damixa products

Taps and mixers producer Damixa has received a total of three prestigious international Red Dot Awards for product design 2016. All three products have been commended for "High Design Quality". The products, two kitchen mixer taps and one shower system, all distinguish themselves by uniting everyday practical use with beautiful design.

International recognition of the highest calibre – it doesn't get any bigger, when the Red Dot judging panel elects to distinguish a total of three Danish designs for best product design 2016. Over 5,200 products from across the globe were presented in the 31 categories, so competition for the awards was strong.

It is three very different products, which have won the recognition of the 41-strong judging panel.

The A-Pex shower system is extremely minimalistic in its design, but does not compromise on shower comfort. The Tradition kitchen mixer tap is a classic design with a pull-out spray head that matches the needs of the modern consumer, while the Slate Pro mixer tap takes functionality one step further, as the spout itself is made from flexible silicone, and the head part can be lifted out of the holder and swivelled around.

"Red Dot is the most prestigious international design award there is, so we are incredibly proud of getting three design prizes in one sweep. This is the first time in Damixa's history. It is Damixa's strategy to bring new, innovative products onto the market each year, so this is an important milestone for us," says Ole Sander, CEO of FM Mattsson Mora Group Danmark, the company behind Damixa.

These are the 9th, 10th and 11th Red Dot awards, which Danish design brand Damixa has received for its innovative products, and proof that Danish design continues to have a strong presence on the international stage. The selection means that A-Pex, Tradition and Slate Pro will be included in the "Red Dot 2016 Winners Book" and will be on show at the Red Dot museum in Essen, Germany as well as online at www.red-dot.de.

The three winners:

The Slate Pro kitchen mixer:

Its distinguished black and chrome look combined with its 360 degree flexibility makes this superbly practical in the kitchen. It is also equipped with a single-grip handle and the cold start energy saving feature.

Tradition kitchen mixer with pull-out spray head:

The Tradition pull-out mixer has a build-in spray head that can be pulled out, with a flexible hose to clean the entire sink. The mixer tap is equipped with a single-grip handle and the cold start energy saving feature.

A-Pex shower system:

Shower system and mixer in a raw, 'water pipe' look, this elegant and simple style incorporates an array of innovative features. The set is designed in collaboration with Danish industrial designer Anders Hermansen.
