"Beat Girl" nominated for the Kidscreen Awards as Best TV Movie

December 2nd 2013

"Beat Girl" gets another nomination. After being nominated for an EMMY, "Beat Girl" is now nominated for a Kidscreen Award as Best TV Movie. Winners will be announced Feb 11, in New York, one day after the EMMYS.

"Beat Girl" created by award-winning and Emmy-nominated producer Nuno Bernardo, was produced by Triona Campbell under the helm of Irish Director Mairtín de Barra and stars newcomer Louise Dylan as Heather, a classical pianist whose music brings her on a life journey, as she finds herself torn between following her late mother’s footsteps as a world class pianist and the enticing underground world of DJing.

The series was produced using Irish section 481 tax incentives and Portuguese fund FICA. "Beat Girl" already made an impact on the big screen having had a theatrical run in cinemas in Ireland, UK and Portugal as well as a successful spin-off book, mobile game and Soundtrack CD.  The series is currently available on iTunes in Europe and in the US on Hulu and Hulu Plus subscription service. It has also been broadcasted on TV in Israel and soon will be seen on Scandinavian screens.
