WasteLess Co-Founder Ribhu Vohra at TEDxDelhi

Ribhu Vohra was born and raised in Auroville, South India. He studied and worked in the Netherlands for 10 years. During which he obtained a bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, along with an Innovative Communication and Training diploma. 

While living in Europe, Ribhu garnered extensive experience in global mobility and human resources with Shell International, where he facilitated international teams and led intercultural communication efforts. He decided to leave his corporate job and travel around the world for year. 

His travels ended in Auroville, where Ribhu committed himself to waste-related issues, beginning with an innovative litter free campaign targeting children. The highlight of which was a trashion show -- a fashion show with clothing and accessories made from trash! For over two years he has been working on a grassroots waste management improvement project with residents and local government of a small town, researching innovative and sustainable means to increasing resource recovery from Indian waste. 

This past year he has been working with a young team for a non-profit social enterprise called WasteLess (www.iwasteless.org) to develop an innovative education programme on waste called Garbology 101. It aims to provide children with knowledge, skills and tools to Inspire children to intervene and stimulate waste systems change in India; create and reinforce values of personal responsibility towards the future on Earth; and stimulate resource conservation through conscious consumerism.


WasteLess wants to change the world one piece of garbage at a time.
