Press release -

EUR 95 billion investment potential in the Stockholm region

For the 23rd year in a row, the Stockholm region is participating in the investment trade fair MIPIM in Cannes, one of the world’s leading real estate and investment expos. The Stockholm region’s primary message during MIPIM is its investment potential of EUR 95 billion through 2025.

- It is important that we demonstrate the region’s competitiveness at MIPIM to attract investments. If the region is going to grow at the pace for which there is potential, MIPIM is one of the best occasions of the year to meet both Swedish and international players, says Olle Zetterberg, CEO of Stockholm Business Region.

The Stockholm region’s sweeping investment potential of EUR 95 billion comprises, among other things:

- Dwellings EUR 45 billion
- Railways, tramways EUR 13 billion
- Offices EUR 4.4 billion
- Roads, streets, squares EUR 4 billion

During the trade show, the MIPIM Awards 2016 will be presented in 11 categories. This year, the Stockholm region has the chance to scoop up two prizes, in the category of Best Residential Development, with the Katscha apartment building in Norrköping Municipality, and in the category of Best Shopping Center, with the Mall of Scandinavia in Solna Municipality.

The MIPIM Awards have been presented since 1991 to “honour the most outstanding and accomplished projects, completed or yet to be built, around the world.” The international jury of the MIPIM Awards 2016 has selected 44 finalists from 230 projects in 42 countries.

The focus during MIPIM includes seminars and joint marketing of the Stockholm region together with 25 municipalities and 21 property partners.
