Europe’s first Green Capital visits Paris and Cleantech Forum

Stockholm Business Region, ambassador for Stockholm European Green Capital 2010 award and the city's official investment promotion, will host the seminar Energy-Saving Cities - Smart Buildings & Integrated Urban Infrastructure during the XXVII edition of the Cleantech Forum in Paris.

The Cleantech Forum in Paris, to be held April 26-28, brings together leading European and global cleantech corporations, investors, innovators, CEOs, and government officials for the region's most important cleantech event of the year.

Stockholm is the first city to be designated by the EU Commission as European Green Capital for 2010. This award presents an opportunity to raise awareness of the environmental efforts made by the city, its residents and its businesses, and to inspire other cities in their environmental efforts.

In pursuit of this goal, Stockholm Business Region is hosting a seminar on the topic Energy-Saving Cities - Smart Buildings & Integrated Urban Infrastructure. Olof Zetterberg, CEO of Stockholm Business Region, Nicolas Buchoud, Senior Policy Advisor, urban development and interregional co-operation, Office of the President, Région Ile de France, André Heinz, Founding Partner and Investment Director Sustainable Technologies Fund and Peter Sharett, Director of Sustainability & Climate Changewill, WSP, forms a panel of experts discussing achievements and challenges of urban development and sustainable, energy efficient cities. The discussion is moderated by Emma Ritch, Cleantech Group.  

Date: Wednesday, April 28th at 10:15 – 11 :15 AM.
Place: Main conference hall, Le Méridien Etoile, 81 Boulevard Gouvion Saint-Cyr, Paris. Topics to be discussed during the seminar include:
- How can green technologies be used to create a sustainable, enlarged city?
- What can companies and cities do to create smarter buildings and integrate urban infrastructure?
- What can Paris and other cites learn from Stockholm, the first European Green Capital?
