Major investment in Stockholm region life science companies

The next five years will see a major investment to increase the life science companies in the Stockholm region. The aim is to double the number of identified companies which are ripe for investment.

The City of Stockholm's work to increase the level of investment in the region's life science companies will intensify over the next five years. Development of the method used to identify innovative companies looking for international investment and cooperation will strengthen the region's competitiveness.

"The investment means that we can highlight several exciting and powerful life science companies in the region that are looking for international investment and cooperation," says Ylva Hultman, Business Development Manager at Stockholm Business Region Development.

The investment has been enabled through project financing from the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth of just under SEK 7 million ( in total SEK 13 million) in order to develop the identification of and information concerning life science companies that are ripe for investment. There is currently a digital platform, the Life Science Investment Hotlist, which consists of 47 selected companies. The platform is a tool for investors who are looking for investment opportunities within life sciences.
