Stockholm Economy: Strong figures for Stockholm during Q3 2015

Business in Stockholm continued its positive development during the third quarter of 2015. Total wages show increasing growth, unemployment is falling and the number of new companies in both the county and city rose. This is what The Stockholm Economy Report for Q3 2015 shows.

The number of new business increases again, and the number of bankruptcies fell compared with the same quarter last year. During the third quarter, 5103 new business were started in the county of which 3004 were in the city.

- Yet another quarter with strong economic figures for both the city and county. Stockholm have a strong business climate and a good development in the labor market. These are all important parameters for a successful region, says Olle Zetterberg, CEO of Stockholm Business Region.

Stockholm’s population continued to grow. Over the last four quarters the number of residents has increased by 31 700 in the county, 11 500 of whom are in the city.

The number of housing projects increased in both the county and city. In total 13 400 apartments were started in the county during the last four quarters, whereof about 4 800 in the city.
