​LK moves to larger warehouse

The LK Group is investing in a new warehouse that will handle all operations and logistics for the Heating and Plumbing business unit, as well as for the Pipe Production business unit. The approximately 8 000 m² will be built on existing industrial land in Ulricehamn directly adjacent to the PEX-pipe factory.

The project is expected to be completed in February 2017 and the facilities will begin handling all operations and logistics in April.

The existing warehouse has been integrated into other premises in Malmö. To be able to meet the expected market demand, the Group has decided to move all warehousing in Malmö to a new warehouse in Ulrichamn, build in the same environmentally efficient way as the PEX pipe factory.

From Malmö to Ulricehamn
The background to this decision relates to the growth of the Heating and Plumbing business unit, which for the past few years has been suchthat they have now outgrown the Malmö warehouse. We have gradually moved many articles from Malmö to the PEX pipe warehouses so as to ensure continued warehouse support. Now that the warehouse space has become too small, however we have made the decision to build a new logistics centre.

Larger warehouse
The new logistics centre in Ulricehamn will strengthen and future-proof the warehousing and logistics capabilities of the LK Group. Since a large part of our product portfolio is produced at the factory in Ulricehamn, the new warehouse being located nearby was a natural sept, and throug this we will be closer to our major customers, meaning reduces transportation and thus less environmental impact. The Heating of the premises will come entirely from the waste heat of the PEX pipe factory.
