International Space University delegation visits Nammo Ireland

As part of the International Space University Space Studies Program 2017, located this year at Cork Institute of Technology, Nammo Ireland this week hosted one of the programs Professional Industry Meetings at its site outside Dublin.

The visiting group included 17 ISU participants and 6 ISU staff, led by Dr. Su-Yin Tan. Dr. Tan is a faculty member and chairs the Academic Council of the International Space University, as well as being a Senior Lecturer in the Geomatics Program, Director of the Applied Geomatics Research Laboratory, and Teaching Fellow at the University of Waterloo, Canada.

The group was met by Nammo Ireland’s Dr. Ronan Wall, who presented the space activities and products available from the Dublin site, followed by a plant tour to the manufacturing centre and valve assembly and cleanroom areas, where the visitors got to see the latest Nammo Ireland space hardware being produced.

"We always try to support academic and education programs in space based technologies. After all we will rely on the next generation of skilled graduates to grow our industry and business” says Nammo Ireland General Manager Mark Foy.

As well as supporting the International Space University program, Nammo Ireland is also in its third year of support to the MSc in Space Science and Engineering at University College Dublin with lectures on project management for space.
