CRAFT XC PODIUM RACE JACKET – High-tech for the top spot

Inspired by elite performance, CRAFT targets the top and introduces its XC Podium Race Jacket. The new elite garment was engineered for and with the pro skiers who aim for the top spot in Sochi. Made of a state-of-the-art 3-layer soft shell fabric with ultrasonic taped seams and laser-cut venti-lation, the garment delivers fast function, smooth comfort, and a sleek appearance on the track. 

Spearheaded by Cross-Country Category Leader and double Olympic Champion Björn Lind, CRAFT is dedicated to designing the best gear for the world’s best athletes as well as recreational skiers. 

Vital for CRAFT’s R&D is the close cooperation with top athletes such as the Swedish national cross-country team. Drawing from their eager feedback and continuous testing the brand designed the new XC Podium Race Jacket – which has quickly become on of the favourites with the pro skiers...On the front, the super soft, comfortable soft shell material with a brushed inside keeps warm and provides windproof protection. Its high-tech membrane guarantees great breathability, which is further enhanced by the Thermocool® fabric used on the back. To deliver top performance down to the smallest detail, the Swedes further utilize laser-cut holes on the critical ‘hot spots’ under the arms and on the back. 

The design team worked with cameras filming the skiers’ movements closely from all angles. Thus, the fabrics’ high elasticity and the complex 3D cut, which integrates CRAFT’s unique Moving Wing Technology, offer outstanding freedom of movement. The XC Podium Race Jacket goes well beyond ordinary and further features taped seams and big reflective details.
