Radonova Expands North American Service Offering with Gammadata Acquisition

Through the acquisition of the radon measurement instrument division of Gammadata Instruments, Radonova has further strengthened its position as a world leader in home and workplace radon measurement. As demand for radon measurement increases in the North American region, Radonova has taken the strategic decision to broaden its range of radon measurement technologies by adding several advanced instruments and products to its portfolio.

Since 1987, Gammadata has developed and manufactured radon instruments. It has developed three state-of-the-art radon monitors which are used in the industrial market:

• ATMOS is a radon sniffer that measures indoor radon levels and identifies the entry point into a building. The instrument utilizes pulsed ionization chamber technology which enables it to measure radon levels quickly and accurately, presenting results instantaneously.
• MARKUS measures radon levels in soil. Portable and battery powered, the instrument is able to identify high radon concentrations.
• ROBIN is an industrial radon sensor for ventilation applications such as air handling units, roof fans and radon evacuation fans. It measures radon air levels and converts the concentration to a proportional output signal. The sensor can be connected to a fan controller, PLC or any other analog input signal device.

Bill Rounds, President of Radonova, said: “As we continue to expand aggressively into new markets, its imperative that we broaden our measurement capabilities to enable us to fulfill new requirements. ATMOS is arguably the world’s most sensitive radon sniffer. Being able to offer this type of innovation and advanced technology provides us with a real competitive advantage, and is a significant value-add to our client base. The future of our service deliver offering is bright.”

Rounds continues: “Workplace radon measurement is now becoming the norm, which is why we are always looking to enhance and diversify our radon measurement program to meet new market needs and regulatory requirements.”

Dag Sedin, Founder and Senior Advisor at Gammadata, said: “As we are now part of Radonova Laboratories, there is enormous potential for intensifying our research to ensure that we continue to deliver the most innovative radon instruments and sensors available on the market. Radonova provides us with a great platform to further develop the new product lines we have in the pipeline. The first of these will be an update to the ATMOS radon sniffer. In addition, Radonova has an established export network that will provide numerous new opportunities for growth when new products are released.”
