Tanita offers life transforming health monitoring tools to combat rising obesity among adults and children

Dubai, January 30, 2017 – With obesity rates in UAE and elsewhere soaring, one of the world’s game-changing health monitoring companies Tanita is showcasing a range of state-of-the art weight management equipment at the Dubai Arab Health show designed to motivate women, kids and men to get back into shape.

Tanita’s unique health enhancing weight management tools can be seen from January 30 to February 2, 2017 on booth S1.L10 Sheikh Saeed Hall in the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre during Arab Health, the largest gathering of healthcare and trade professionals in the MENA region with 4,400 of the world's leading healthcare companies coming in from 70 countries.

“Japan’s family-owned Tanita has secured a global reputation among doctors, health researchers, weight management providers and gym chains for the accuracy and reliability of its health enhancing equipment,” said Kim Ramessa, Tanita International Marketing Manager. She noted that worldwide obesity has more than doubled since 1980, according to WHO figures, with other reports indicating that up to 36 percent of children and 60 percent of adults in UAE are obese.

WHO says most of the world's population live in countries where overweight and obesity kills more people than underweight. The body adds that childhood obesity is associated with a higher chance of obesity, premature death and disability in adulthood. But in addition to increased future risks, obese children experience breathing difficulties, increased risk of fractures, hypertension, early markers of cardiovascular disease, insulin resistance and psychological effects.

Tanita’s range of health enhancing products, such as its unique body fat scale launched as a world first in 1992 or the top selling MC780 (pictured left), deliver information on an individual’s body fat, muscle mass, metabolic age and much more, all in a matter of seconds. As weight measurement and monitoring technology innovators since 1944, Tanita’s ground breaking research, dedicated service and support has won the trust of industry experts, clinical professionals and consumers around the world and resulted in product sales in the tens of millions.

“Tanita’s focus todayis very much on helping people find long term health benefits by using its equipment both at home and at medical centres, leading gyms chains and through B2B opportunities, all being driven by the company’s sustained expansion into the fitness and wellness markets,” Kim Ramessa said.
