Bling and swing in Päivi's nail salon

Fantasy Nails Finland, a nail salon and an importer of gel nail products, is the Finnish importer of the Spanish brand Fantasy Nails. Päivi Kurman, entrepreneur, is responsible for sales, training and Finnish Fantasy Nails events.

The busy entrepreneur's days are delightfully versatile: unpacking and sending deliveries, training and planning training schedules, salon work, paperwork, and more.

- Versatility is definitely the best, I love the industry and I get to do everything in it! There are only good things in my job, the only challenge is scheduling and lack of time. I would like to do more, but the 24 hours of the day are just not enough. On the other hand, I like my work so much that the boundary between leisure and work is really unclear, Päivi says.

Päivi does some actual salon work herself to keep up to date with what's going on. The job is physically heavy because the work positions are quite static. Fortunately, unpacking and packaging products bring a great deal of variation to sitting. Stretching and small exercise breaks also help to cope.

Swing is the best

The tools must be of high quality and ergonomic, for example, the importance of the handle in the electric file is important. But the most important prerequisite for not getting tired in one’s job is to have a good working position, and a good chair enables that.

Nowadays Päivi is sitting on Salli SwingFit, and there is no return to old seats and work positions.

- Salli SwingFit is the best work chair during my 20-year career! Post-pregnancy back problems are much better under control now when the sitting position is right. I would never go back to the old and replace Salli with any of the previous chairs!

In Salli Päivi appreciates especially quality and Finnish craftsmanship. Furthermore, the seat of Salli is very well designed and the castors work like a dream. It is also nice that Salli comes in wonderful colors.

- And I want to emphasize that the swing feature is a must for salon work. The back and hips get enough movement and I will not get stuck in the same position for a long time. The seat also follows my movements comfortably when I reach for things on shelves, Päivi says.

I wish everyone could have Salli

Päivi recommends Salli to her colleagues, but reminds that it is advisable to use it in the beginning together with the old chair, until you get used to the new healthy position. Pay attention to your sitting position, and remember to keep your feet on the side of the chair. If the feet are too much in the front the balance is disturbed and you can no more keep the back straight. Also, it is important to sit at the back of the chair, then the chair feels comfortable because the sitting bones are on the thickest spot on the padding.

In addition to her colleagues, Päivi hopes that also other people try Salli to benefit of its healthy effects in their lives. When we ask her who he would especially like to see sitting on Salli the answer comes quickly.

- Jethro Rostedt! This Finnish celebrity real estate agent and TV performer works long days and certainly doesn’t always remember the importance of good work positions, she explains.

Päivi is a busy woman, but she still finds times to arrange also seminars on chemistry, occupational safety and ergonomics. The seminars will cover, for example, the chemical properties of the products, the importance of registered and safe products and product know-how.

- The seminar is a cross-section of product and occupational safety. I also talk about wellbeing at work, such as ergonomic working position and methods, and I give all the participants exercise instructions that were made together with a personal trainer. You cannot do that much during a four-hour lecture, but I wish to get participants thinking about their own and their customers' safety and general wellbeing. Welcome to the next seminar in Oulu, 6.5.!
