Let's celebrate Father's Day!

Father's Day is an international phenomenon. More than half of the countries of the world celebrate Father's Day.

Officially the tradition started in the United States in 1917. The Swedes were the first Scandinavians to start celebrating Father's Day int the 1930s. The day was originally in the middle of the summer but after requests from merchants it was moved to the second Sunday in November.

The Spaniards also celebrate Father's Day, but in springtime, in March. The story goes that the tradition there originated because of a teacher in Madrid who arranged a party for fathters in the school in 1948.

And of course we will pamper fathers also in Finland next Sunday - fathers will get good food and quality time with the family.
