Salming Portugal signs walking star Inês Henriques

Salming Portugal is exited to announce that Inês Henriques is joining the successful Salming Team. She is a World Class athlete, following the long and memorable history of Portugueses runners in International Competitions.

Inês Henriques got the first World Record of the 50km official female march of 4h08`26`` and demonstrated that women could also do 50km of great quality walking. She followed it up with the World Champion title with an other new World Record of 4:05`56``, with the whole world to seeing and to supporting her.

”My dreams do not stop here, I have new dreams, new goals and I will continue to fight for equal opportunities between men and women in the 50km race to achieve the integration of the competition in the Olympic Games in Tokyo,” says Inês Henriques. ”I am very happy to be integrated into the Salming Team and it will undoubtedly be a vital collaboration for me to achieve my next goals.

Inês most important moments

7th place in the 20km race at the World Championship in Osaka in Japan in 2007;

Bronze medal in the 20km marching in the World Cup of March in Chiuhauhua in Mexico in 2010, where the Portuguese team reached the Title of World Champions;

12th place in the 20km Racewalking at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil in 2016;

World Record of the 50km march of 4h08`26`` in January and the title of World Champion.
