A380 Kits

Going the extra mile to support its customers is a hallmark of Satair Group and in autumn 2015 this was proven yet again with the delivery of two A380 hydraulic flyaway kits to a customer in the Middle East.

The contents of the flyaway kits are based on Airbus Service Information Letter (SIL.29-086) that recommends a range of parts and tools approved for repairs and replacement of hydraulic lines at any outstation to allow the aircraft to safely return to base.

Antara Trillingsgaard, Product Manager for Satair Group, explained that the company wanted to make sure that the customer had the most optimal solution for its needs and that Satair Group should be their one-stop-shop.

She said: “We offered a solution where instead of choosing between multiple kits listed in the SIL, the customer could opt for just one kit that we could customise for them to perform the recommended repairs.

“We offered the customer a choice between two kits that we put together – one to perform permanent repairs and one for temporary repairs. In this case the customer chose one of each”.

The majority of parts in the kits are a variety of Eaton’s Aeroquip® products. The permanent kit consists of 146 different part numbers and the temporary repair kit has 84 different part numbers. Both kits are tailor-made and logically set out for ease of use.

Antara adds: “We went the extra mile to support the customer and to provide an impressive, best value solution for them in an attractive and manageable package.”

Satair Group has other Eaton’s Aeroquip® custom-made kits in the order pipeline, particularly for Rynglok® fittings which are used for permanent repairs of hydraulic tubes.

The business is now looking forward to creating many more of these tailor-made solutions not just across the A380 but on many other platforms as well.
