Illuminated traffic workers save lives

Recently the Swedish television reported about a project started by the Attunda regional fire brigade and the Topright Nordic company. Personnel and equipment had been provided with illumination, using electroluminescent light (EL). The project has been funded by the Swedish Transport Agency. The report was very positive concerning the potential to save lives and avoid accidents at traffic work locations.

The company 4light is a forerunner in this area, with the LED equipped safety harness. The 4light harness is available for buyers since 2 years back, and the visibility is greater than that of the newly introduced EL products.

One company which early saw the benefits of the brilliant harnesses is A-L Väg o Vakt, with a lot of guards working at traffic and building sites. They have just bought another 40 harnesses from 4light. The new improved version has side mounted pockets for battery and electronics, making it more comfortable for drivers of cars and other vehicles.

4light is positive to the Attunda project - it demonstrates the benefits of more illumination for workforce in dark places, and will hopefully make the government agencies include illuminated protective clothing and equipment in their rules and regulations.
