Svensk Filmindustri and StellaNova Film join forces

Scandinavian major Svensk Filmindustri has entered a three year output deal with Swedish independent production power house StellaNova Film and producer Lena Rehnberg. The deal includes all rights for the Stella Nova new slate of films during the period.

Lena Rehnberg and StellaNova Film has produced some of the most successful feature films in Sweden during the last five years including the 2013 box-office hit Waltz for Monica (Monica Z).

“I am very excited about strengthening my relationship with Svensk. They are very ambitious about their future plans and are extremely professional in all aspects of production and distribution. On top they are very inspiring to work with, so I am more than happy, says producer Lena Rehnberg.

“Lena Rehnberg and StellaNova Film is a very strong force within the Swedish independent film production community and we are thrilled to have her as a partner. Her films have an undisputed track-record at the Swedish box-office, so it is of course very exciting to represent her films locally and on the international market. We couldn’t be happier”, says Jonas Fors, CEO at Svensk Filmindustri.

The first film included in the deal to premiere is the romantic comedy Love is a drug. The film stars Izabella Scorupco (Golden Eye) and is planned for a 2014 Christmas theatrical release in Sweden.
