Nordic major Svensk Filmindustri today announces that Pia Grünler will join the company as Nordic Head of Theatrical in April, 2016.
Pia Grünler has a 20 year long and well documented experience from the Swedish film industry, including various sales and marketing positions in theatrical as well as Home Entertainment distribution.
Most recently she has held a position as Market Director at Nordisk Film, where she for the last nine years has had the overall responsibility for the company’s theatrical and Home Entertainment distribution activities.
Pia Grünler has over the years very successfully handled many of the Svensk Filmindustri owned production entity Tre Vänner’s features, including box-office hits like the Easy Money trilogy, Bamse and The City of Thieves and most recently, the release of the huge success, A Man Called Ove, a film that has reached over 1 500 000 admissions, making it the best-selling domestic film in over 30 years at the box-office.
In her new position at Svensk Filmindustri, she will have the overall responsibility for the company’s Nordic theatrical distribution operation and on a more basic level head the local Swedish theatrical distribution team.
Pia Grünler will report to Antti Toiviainen, Chief Sales and Distribution Officer.
