Two top recruitments at Nordic major Svensk Filmindustri

For immediate release

Nordic major Svensk Filmindustri today announces that Tim King has been appointed Executive Vice President Production, (effective immediately) and Lars Bredo Rahbek has been appointed Head of Production Denmark, (effective March 1).

The two appointments are in line with the company’s strategy to further strengthen production activities, locally as well as internationally.

Tim King is an Australian whose career includes eight years with McKinsey & Co in Sydney and Stockholm, five years running a large scale development project in Tanzania for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and most recently as VP of Operations for the service company Polygon.

Producer Lars Bredo Rahbek is well-known within the Danish film production community and has been a producer at Nimbus Film since 1997. He has produced several highly successful local films including Flame & Citron (Flammen & Citronen), Superclassico and What No One Knows (Det som ingen ved).

Lars will report to Tim, who in turn will report to Jonas Fors, CEO at Svensk Filmindustri.

"Tim’s broad experience together with Lars’s strong history within Danish film and TV allows us to ensure we can manage both the challenges of our existing production businesses, together with ensuring the skills to manage the growth we want to achieve” says Jonas Fors, CEO at Svensk Filmindustri. “I am very glad that they have decided to join the Nordic SF team”.

"I’m extremely glad to be joining SF at such an exciting time. SF has a strong foundation of creative and commercial talent in both Denmark and Sweden as well as in Norway and Finland, which we’re planning to build on to grow in both domestic and international markets. I’m very much looking forward to being part of the journey", says Tim King.

“I am thrilled and delighted at the opportunity of joining Svensk Filmindustri to take up the position as Head of Production in Denmark. Having for the past few years enjoyed a close and highly constructive working relationship with their brilliant distribution team, I look forward to joining the production business to pursue the company’s ambitions for a strong and visible European presence”, says Lars Bredo Rahbek
