Maturity Institute, Harvard Law School and OMS LLP to rate S&P500 on Human Governance

Maturity Institute announced today at an investor event in Stockholm that they have agreed on a collaborative research project with the Pensions and Capital Stewardship Project within the Labor and Worklife Program at Harvard Law School. A full copy of the proposed research program is now available and the project has started recruiting strategic partners.

The purpose of the collaborative research project is to build a new index of companies in the S&P500 that analyzes and aims to identify the nature and extent of the relationship between more effective Human Governance and long-term market and societal value creation.

Maturity Institute defines Human Governance as how an organization fulfills its commitment to the never-ending pursuit of societal value through realizing the full potential value of its entire human capital.

The Maturity Institute’s definition of societal value, as used by its exemplar organizations, is the best possible quality of product or service at the lowest possible cost (without undue external harm [e.g. environmental], as determined by society itself).

Organizational Maturity Ratings (OMR’s) assess the extent to which an organization is designed around the goal of maximizing its value, while controlling risk, with respect to all its human capital.
