NEW HISTORY2 CARRIAGE DEAL IN SWEDEN

London, UK – 16th March, 2020 – Com Hem, part of the Tele2 Group in Sweden, has added HISTORY2® to its growing portfolio of factual entertainment channels. The channel launched on 13th March on channel number 40 and will be available for Com Hem customers.

With the signing of the deal, the subscribers will have access to a wide selection of content focusing on all areas of history, science and technology.

HISTORY2® is an extension of the HISTORY® brand, where information is entertainment, experienced in unexpected and exciting ways. The channel features an original line-up of series and specials that take a deep perspective on history from all around the globe.

Senior Vice President, Commercial Strategy & General Manager, the Nordics, Benelux, Middle East and Africa, Adrian Pilkington said: “HISTORY2 has been a great success across Europe and I am delighted that we can now offer the channel to Com Hem subscribers. HISTORY2 allows us to expand on the quality content available on our flagship HISTORY channel by representing the very heart of the HISTORY brand as well as offering viewers more information, more facts and even more entertainment.”

Key shows on HISTORY2 for 2020 include:

  • Lost Worlds S2 - from the castle of the real Count Dracula to the Super City of Adolf Hitler, history is full of temples, fortresses, lost civilizations, and secret worlds that have been left behind by the passage of time. But a team of field investigators and engineering experts went out into the world in search of clues about these great feats of engineering, technology, and culture to bring them back to life.
  • Chasing Mummies follows legendary archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass as he pursues one of the most challenging and exciting jobs in the world: discovering new archaeological finds while managing 250 digs throughout Egypt. The cameras will be right there as he and his team unearth new treasures, ranging from incredibly preserved mummies to, perhaps, Cleopatra's tomb. This is archaeology as never seen before.
  • Digging for the Truth follows explorer Josh Bernstein who takes a fresh look at the world's greatest ancient mysteries and investigate and test new theories using the latest technology and know-how. Josh will travel to some of the most intriguing, remote and physically challenging locations in the world, and with the help of experts and survival skills, will attempt to solve some of the greatest puzzles of the past.
  • Swamp Mysteries with Troy Landry will play as part of our annual Monster Month as well as continuing successful series Ancient Aliens and The Universe.

HISTORY2 continues to grow worldwide and is currently in over 45 million households across 68 territories with plans to grow further across every continent.
