Bzzt enters the courier business.

Stockholm city is crowded. Bzzt is trying to do something about that (and the air quality) by driving small, emission free taxi pods that don’t cost a fortune to ride with. But why limit environmentally friendly travel to people? Things also need to move around. That’s why Bzzt is starting a courier business.

The pod taxi company Bzzt recently expanded its zone to cover all of Stockholm’s city center, which is something the company’s customers have long asked for. Another highly demanded service has been to send parcels with the company’s light vehicles.

– Ever since we started we have been approached by companies who want to use Bzzt to deliver all sorts of things. But it wasn’t until recently, when we made our zone larger, that we felt that we could enter the courier business and provide a really good service. Now we are able to provide an efficient, emission free delivery service that covers just about all of central Stockholm, says Mirja Ahrén, CEO Bzzt Stockholm.

Bzzt promises delivery within one hour. The company has signed deals with about a dozen customers, the latest being insurance broker Hedvig.

– Bzzt and Hedvig are a great match. We are both challenging our respective industries to create positive change. Bzzt has a new take on the taxi business with emission free, light vehicles, low fares and unionised drivers. And Hedvig is turning the insurance industry upside down, says Jonas Stendahl, Business Development Director at Bzzt.

Bzzt is getting closer to the complete service that has been its ambition ever since the start of the company. In addition to the taxi service and the new courier service, the company also offers advertising on the pod taxis.
