The Alfama neighbourhood in Lisbon is one of the oldest and most iconic areas of the Portuguese capital. Known for its narrow, winding streets, traditional fado music, and stunning views of the Tagus River, its unique charm and cultural richness make it a highly sought-after area for architectural restoration projects. This apartment is one such project. It involves the rehabilitation of a 19th-century building, with the primary goal of preserving the original architectural character while enhancing the natural light, which was quite limited in this building. The work carried out by Filipa Lencastre Cunha (Lencastre Cunha | Architecture) achieved this.

“Malaysian bakeries usually focus on viennoiserie pastries, but we offer all kinds of cakes and breads,” explains chef Ken Lim in an interview with Tatler magazine. “From the beginning, we wanted to cover a wide range, from European and French breads to petit gâteau and even goûter,” he continues. These statements clearly reflect Lim's drive for excellence and his taste for fine and delicate work, as he runs one of the most renowned bakeries in Kuala Lumpur. So much so that he owns two branches of Croisserie Artisan Bakery in the city, both of which are critically and publicly acclaimed.

Tini Tjemerlang, the designer behind Tini TJ Interiors, is known for creating elegant and comfortable spaces with neutral tones and natural textures. In her latest project, a spacious home in Medan (Indonesia), she has followed this recognisable pattern, resulting in an elevated, refined, and serene atmosphere. “For this project, I focused on creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere by combining solid colours with natural wood accents. The large windows frame the pool and garden, blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces. And the use of Cosentino surfaces ties the whole concept together, balancing design aesthetics with functionality,” she explains.

The Barrio Playa residence, located in the Terralagos residential complex in Canning (Buenos Aires), is designed around a concept of verticality that runs through all spaces. The project, with 485 square metres of built area and developed by Estudio Jankovic, revolves around a large central double-height space that connects the ground floor with the upper level, serving as the structural and visual core of the house. Throughout the various spaces, Dekton and Silestone provide character and continuity in a wide range of applications.
