CPAC Arena, a career launchpad

In a post dated April 26, 2016, we wrote about how CPAC Systems is an arena for, among other things, creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, cooperation and team-work. We’ve discovered (and much to our delight) that it’s also a launchpad for young students to choose their field of study.

Tekniksprånget (Technology Leap) is an internship program run by the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) with the backing of the Swedish Government. The program seeks to place upper secondary school graduates in internships in some of Sweden’s most renowned organizations so that they can gain a better understanding of the engineering profession and hopefully develop an interest in studying engineering or some other form of technical education after high school. Encouraging them to take an interest in engineering is also a way to help secure and preserve Sweden’s engineering tradition and its long-term competitiveness globally.

CPAC Systems truly believes an important factor for success as an innovative company is to allow today’s younger generation to take a larger role in defining innovation as it is they who are the target of future products and services. Therefore, it is their knowledge and approach that are essential for reaching successful results. This is why we open our arena doors twice a year to students registered with Tekniksprånget. We take in a handful and give them a variety of tasks in anything ranging from design and wiring works to test & verification. We believe this exposure to a broad spectrum of the different disciplines makes it easier for the apprentices to choose their discipline of study later on.

This year there was a surge in applicants interested in doing their internship at CPAC Systems. We are excited that many young persons are taking their own initiative to build a strong and successful foundation for their future and we are proud to play a part in this. And we wish to thank them for showing an interest in our organization.

Some facts about CPAC Systems and Tekniksprånget.

• Since 2014, CPAC has been a learning and competence arena for youths coming through Tekniksprånget
• 110 applications were received for fall 2016 from students wanting to do their internship with us
• 14 have done their internship at CPAC up till now and approximately 90% went on to a technical education.
