In-depth press information about the new generation’s components:

Better lifting capacity when working with branches and tops

The new crane pillar is now angled backwards. At the same time, the main boom has been extended. This means that the crane does not end up in the top position as often when working at close range, which means that the driver does not need to be quite as attentive.

The major benefit when working with branches, tops and brush is the improved lifting and loading capacity, and thanks to the new geometry it is therefore easier to load directly against the gate and to achieve a better distribution of the weight of the load.

New brake solution

Cranab has developed a new brake solution that is based on known technology and is used in Cranab's innovative subsidiary company, Vimek. The solution comprises a double brake at the crane nose that can be used during active braking. This makes continuous work easier, as the grapple is better controlled.

The active braking is proportional and is based on a solution whereby when the crane swings, the pressure in the slewing cylinder tubes is used and transferred to the brake, which is activated. This solution is automated, ergonomic and practical.

Hose routing protected in a new way

At the crane nose, hydraulic pipes and hoses have been routed together in a protected location. An entirely new, protected hose routing has been designed at the front of the crane nose, passing through the link to the rotator. The cranes will also be available with two extra lines out to the crane nose, one of which is used for the active brake.

Service friendliness

In order to further improve service friendliness, Cranab has introduced individual tensioning of hoses in the telescopic boom, powerful chains in the chain mountings, soft-sealing hydraulic couplings according to the ORFS standard, as well as lateral slide blocks on the intermediate boom which can be adjusted from outside.

Stable parking position

There has also been considerable focus on the parking position, a characteristic of Cranab. It is important to have good operating characteristics when working, yet it is also important to have a good parking position during transport.  The parking position means that the crane can be lowered fully so that it rests against the bottom of the loading area. This looks after both the crane and the bearings, and produces increased stability.

Satisfies the most stringent demands

The new crane has been dimensioned to satisfy the new European standard, which is based on the estimated number of load exchanges for a crane during its service life.

“The requirement specification entails that we have to be at the highest level in the sector. And this is permeating the entire development of the new crane generation. This is where we should be,” says Micael Olsson.

Cranab's products, cranes and crane-tip equipment for professional mechanised forestry have been designed, manufactured and sold since the early 1960s. Equipment for clearing vegetation along roads and power lanes is produced under the Slagkraft brand. In addition to the domestic Swedish market, products are also sold to a number of countries right around the world.
