Crosskey’s massive IT project completes the merger of S-Bank and LähiTapiola Bank

Finnish IT company Crosskey has completed the IT migration of the merger between S-Bank and LähiTapiola Bank. The scale of the project has been enormous and can be seen as one of the largest financial IT projects within the banking sector in Finland this year. The migration included 10 years of transactional data including all of the customers’ accounts, loans, payments as well as the e-banking solution.

The legal merger between S-Bank and LähiTapiola Bank took place in May 2014. Crosskey has, together with S-Bank, ever since then been working on the migration project. S-Bank has today 2,8 million customers and the amount of transferred data in this project has been quite substantial. The entire migration was carried out during one weekend and the new e-banking service was up and running on 25^th of October 2015. In its new form, the S-Bank platform will serve both its old as well as migrated LähiTapiola Bank customers.

A key success factor has been all the talented people that have been involved in the project. Crosskey has been working together with S-Bank ever since the start of their banking operations in 2007 and has supported them throughout their journey in becoming one of Finland’s biggest banks.

The impact on our customers was minimal and S-Bank’s new netbank was live even before scheduled time. This can truly be seen as a successful project,” Kuosa concludes.

The completion of the large-scale project ties an even stronger bond between Crosskey and S-Bank and the cooperation between the two parts will continue in the future.
