In preparation for the release of the IPCC report: Meet with climate experts from Kenya and Malaysia

“We no longer need scientists to prove that climate change is real. I see it every day in the form of floods, drought and changing weather,” says Mithika Mwenda, Secretary General for Africa´s largest climate network, PACJA.

The day before the IPCC releases its report in Stockholm, two experts, Mithika Mwenda from Kenya and Meena Raman from Third World Network in Malaysia, will give their view on climate change and how we together can tackle it. Both are accredited observers to the IPCC meeting and have a good understanding of the process. They come from developing countries where climate change is a reality today.

Researcher Clarisse Kehler Siebert from The Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) who has been following the IPCC process over time will also be participating in the seminar.

The experts will give their view on the effects of climate change, how we can alter the emission intensive development and discuss who should be paying for the damage climate change causes. 

When: Thursday, September 26 from 1 pm - 3 pm.
