Interview with Jörgen Sköld partner and lawyer at Morris Law.

Morris Law supports DSM19 as Silver Sponsor. What contributed to make this decision?
DSM is Sweden’s biggest shipping event and we want to be a part of it! It gives us a great opportunity to meet the shipping industry.

What are your expectations for DSM19?
We attended both DSM15 and DSM17. It’s a fantastic arrangement and, as previous years, we look forward to have many interesting meetings and discussions with the participants at DSM19.

What is your best memory from DSM17?
The list is long but one that sticks out is of course the “speech” by Petter Stordalen. Not only for his charisma but also for his message regarding one's belief in oneself which I am sure many of the attending entrepreneurs of DSM19 relate to, and it is also likely one of the most important factors for the success of Donsö’s entrepreneurs.

What do you find are the opportunities and the biggest challenges in the Shipping Industry today?
Although there are many challenges in the shipping industry, e.g. new environmental regulations, security risks, rising costs etc. I believe being in the forefront and adopting to these challenges is the biggest opportunity in the long run. This demands predictability and competition on equal terms.

How would you describe DSM in one word?
You ask a lawyer to use one word… but the one that strikes me is “Impressive”.

And finally, do you prefer a sail or a motor boat for recreation, and why so?
Motor boat in order to avoid the repeated question “when are we there” from my children, but inevitable this will change and maybe also my choice.
