Stockholm, June 2019. Edrington, the international premium spirits company, announced that due to a new strategic realignment, the distribution and sales of Passoã Liqueur from Lucas Bols has been taken over by Edrington in the Nordics.
Effective immediately, the new distribution agreement for Passoã covers the Nordic markets - Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark and Iceland.
Managing Director Edrington Nordics, Kasper Andersen, said they were talking to well-known principals.
"Edrington and Lucas Bols have had a long history of business partnership, and we are very pleased to include Passoã in our portfolio, which fits in perfectly with our strategy and ideally complements our international alliances” says Andersen.
"With Passoã we add an iconic premium brand to our global brands portfolio, strengthening our position in several of our core markets while utilization of our existing distribution network will be enhanced."
Huub van Doorne, CEO of BOLS, is also looking forward to the extended partnership: "For us, the Nordics is one of the most important sales regions in Europe for our liqueurs: We look forward to serving this market in the future with our partner of choice Edrington.”
Created in 1985, Passoã is a key passion fruit-flavoured liqueur ingredient for cocktails. Thanks to its iconic black bottle and its red colour, the liqueur quickly became successful worldwide. With its passionfruit taste, Passoã is an easy-going alcohol, giving exceptional capability of blending with hard and soft drinks: simply enjoyed with tonic, or in a more sophisticated cocktail like the Porn Star Martini.
