SSE climbs to rank 12th in the world

Today, the Financial Times published the FT Master in Management ranking 2018, which expanded to 100 programs. Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) advanced 11 places in the ranking to 12th place in the world.

“This is extremely pleasing and means a great deal to us. There are more than 14,000 business schools in the world and one hundred of them make it on the list. It’s very hard to compete, considering how small Sweden is. Stockholm School of Economics also has an entirely different kind of financing method where we can’t charge Swedish and European students tuition. We hardly believed reaching this level was possible,” says Lars Strannegård, President of Stockholm School of Economics.

The MSc in International Business (MIB) is the SSE program that participates in the ranking. The MIB program was established five years ago as an important step in the internationalization of SSE.The ranking success was due largely to great placement figures, increased salary, and improved international mobility levels of the surveyed alumni.

Over the past three years, the Stockholm School of Economics has advanced more than thirty places in the ranking and continues to have the number one Master in Management program in the Nordic region.

“Many years ago, we decided to become an international school in Sweden and design a program that’s attractive internationally. It draws skilled students from abroad and many stay in Sweden to work, which provides value to Swedish enterprise. Stockholm School of Economics exists to strengthen Swedish competitiveness and it’s important for Sweden that we show that we have world-class educational programs,” says Lars Strannegård.

This year, the ranking grew from 95 participating programs to 100, making it even more competitive.
