SSE MBA learns about doing business in China

Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) brings their SSE MBA students to Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) for a week of studying Chinese economy.

A program week on doing business in China and understanding the Chinese economy is what the SSE MBA Executive Format class 2012 has experienced during the past week. The group of 40 highly capable MBA participants has spent their 15th program week of their 2-year program at HKUST (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology).

"An international field trip to China and HKUST in particular, is the icing on the cake of our SSE MBA. It gives us an opportunity to contextualize the knowledge acquired throughout the MBA and enables participants to engage in informed discussions about a region no business can afford to neglect", said Jenny Lantz, Program Director SSE MBA Executive Format.

During the week, participants have revisited classic MBA courses, but now from the perspective of an emergent economy, and have had lectures on a variety of subjects specific to China. Ranging from Innovation in China and Hong Kong, Social issues in China, China’s Political and Economic environment, Doing Business in China, Financial Market and Banking system in China, to Intellectual Property Law in China, with lectures by HKUST world-renowned faculty combined with company visits in Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

HKUST is ranked as the number one Executive MBA program worldwide by the Financial Times.
