Stockholm School of Economics in Riga wishes to strengthen investigative journalism

Stockholm School of Economics in Riga will start a training program for journalists from the countries of the Eastern Partnership. The aim is to strengthen expertise in investigative journalism, social media and reinforce journalists' regional networks.

The Centre for Media Studies at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga will start a training program for 25 journalists from countries in the Eastern Partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus).

A free and accountable media is a pre-requisite for a transparent, democratic and market-oriented society. Thus the new training program can be expected to strengthen media literacy in the region. This program is in line with Sweden's priorities in the area and the State Department has pledged €235,000 to the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga.
