“Kate Moss for Longchamp” is a cutting-edge collection of bags designed by Kate with the finest leather craftsmanship of Longchamp. For her second collection, Kate created three new lines - Neo Pure (launched end of September), Neo Patch and Neo Precious (launched mid October) - and selected a few “Rock ’n’ Casual” bags from her first collection to continue (launched end of August).
For her Neo Patch line, which features graphic diagonal stripes in a mixture of exotic finishes on calfskin, Kate chose her favourite colours, including a pale grey, jade green and brilliant red that recall her first collection “Kate Moss for Longchamp”. The Neo Patch line introduces two stylish new clutches – one with a flap and a removable strap, the other rectangular, with a zipper along the top – and also revisits the Gloucester travel bag, an icon in the making, which looks stunning in Kate's multicoloured patchwork with a sapphire trim. For a timelessly chic evening look, the two clutches are interpreted in a black-on-black patchwork that spotlights their sophisticated play on textures, including lizard, python and crocodile.
"I have always loved exotic leathers. It's the richness of them that attracts me. It's the same with the ornaments on the clutches – I just love the idea of having jewels on a bag," explains Kate of the Neo Precious theme. The season's three jewel hues look truly lustrous when rendered in crocodile-styled patent calfskin on the two Neo Precious clutches, which share the same simply elegant shape as those in the Neo Patch theme. Both are embellished with two sumptuous tonal cabochons, interspersed with three smaller stones, which reflect Kate's fascination for Jazz Age glamour.
The new Neo Patch and Neo Precious lines will be available from mid October 2010 at Longchamp boutiques, on the website www.katemossforlongchamp.com, on www.facebook.com/longchamp and in a selection of other stores.
