New CEO at Karnov Group

On the 1st anniversary of GMT Communications Partners (GMT) having acquired Karnov Group in Scandinavia, the Karnov Group Board advises that effective from May 1st 2012 there will be a change in the Karnov Group CEO.

Karnov Group combines innovative technology with professional expertise to offer intelligent information for legal, tax and audit markets in Denmark and Sweden.

After leading the business through the important phase of decoupling all business systems from the previous owner, Thomson Reuters, and resetting the new business to now refocus more acutely on customer requirements, incumbent CEO, Neil Story, has decided to return to his native country, New Zealand, for personal family reasons.

The Karnov Group Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Tobias Hartmann to the CEO position. During a carefully planned transition period over the next few months, Tobias will assume his new role on May 1^st and Neil will be Deputy CEO through that time. This will ensure that an optimal transition process is secured and that business continuity is achieved.

From 2001 to 2010, Tobias Hartmann was working at LexisNexis. Here he led the business area "File & Serve" (electronic filing and service solutions for legal documents to courts and law firms), an area that was in the infancy stage when Tobias arrived and which 10 years later, when Tobias left, was the U.S. attorney industry preferred partner in this field. Most recently, Tobias Hartmann held a position as CEO of "I AM", a B2B music and entertainment business, where he was responsible for developing the company globally.
Tobias Hartmann has an MBA and a MPIA from the University of Pittsburgh (USA) and studied at the University of Birmingham (UK) and University of Augsburg (Germany). He was born and raised in Germany and has dual American-German citizenship.

At this time the Karnov Board would like to formally advise the appointment of Karnov Group’s new Chairman of the Board, Mark Redwood, which took effect some months ago. Mark Redwood is also a board member of Sporting Index Group and Benchmark Solutions. He was previously president of Sales & Trading, the largest division of Thomson Reuters and CEO of Reuters Transaction Services.
