From the very beginning Vanessa’s idea was to transcend the notion of a hair accessory by merging it with the idea of jewelry. “Before starting this collaboration, when I thought of Kérastase the color gold always came to mind. So gold was the obviouschoice when I began designing jewelry for the brand. My second inspiration was immediately the chain motif, which I’m particularly fond of because it has the timeless quality that that I strive for in all my creations.” Vanessa Seward created three pieces of hair jewelry, custom-designed for Kérastase, and developed in collaboration with our hairdressers.

Chain Reaction

This beautifully refined headband was the first piece Vanessa designed. “I liked the idea of a headband made with large links and, above all, I didn’t want it to be too girly. The links are interwoven with a grosgrain ribbon, which gives it an authentic couture feel.” Chain Reaction is an innovative yet truly timeless piece of jewelry for crowning glam rock styles, hippy-chic styles and even romantic styles…

La discrète

The hair cuff, which has been an indispensable runway accessory for several seasons, was revisited by Vanessa and transformed into a true piece of jewelry, adding a poetic touch to the classic ponytail. “I had already designed several hair cuffs when I was at Azzaro. Here, I liked the idea that chainmail could add a touch of glam. Yet, in the end, La Discrète is so chic that it takes on a dimension of timeless luxury that I love.” The chainmail look was recreated by hand in the Edgard Hamon workshops, heightening the gracefulness of a piece that’s perfect for long hair done in any style.

Boucle d’or

This barrette is made of 10 Swarovski crystals, affixed by hand in the Edgard Hamon workshops. The piece was inspired by an image that suddenly came to Vanessa’s mind. “A lock of hair in a buckle, which is both beautiful and simple.” Like a brushstroke that supplies the essential touch of luminosity to a painting, Boucle d’or heightens the allure of elegance that every woman wants. Worn in short hair, the buckle has a Great Gatsby feel. In long hair, it adds refinement and sophistication.
